What should be the social arrangements? An extended family, nuclear family, a village, corporate day care?
the family arrangement for a family is go to school, go to college, get a job start a family that is the human circle of life.

What should be the guiding principles? Love? Obedience? Loving obedience? Humor? Empowerment? Subordination? Time outs? Separate cribs or co-sleeping? Breast feeding or bottle? Child-centered or parent-centered? etc.
all of these count because once in everybodies they will have to deal with one of these situaition to make a family

What were the best parts of how you were parented (since the worst parts don't really belong in a public class blog)?
i would have to say my parents forcing me into independence me having to find an get everything for my self an me being thought how to control myself an not get crazy like a lot of kids out there

How do you think you'd parent if you're put in that position?
i would be a understanding parent but also a parent that knows how to have fun an get serious at the same time

Do you think babies should be treated more like adults or like puppies?
i dont think they should be treated like adults i think they should be treated like there 5 because they do understand what is going on but cant not do anything like a 5 year old. they deff should not be treated like a puppy because thats just wrong. they are humans they should be treated like 1.

Do you think parenting will "come naturally" or do you think you'll have to research multiple perspectives and come up with a (possibly evolving) model in collaboration with other family members? Did your family read books about how to parent you or do informal research such as talking to other family members?
i think there are somethings i would have to look up but a lot of things will come naturally. but me as a parent to a new born kid i would prob let my parents take care of it an when it gets a lil older.

from seeing the result from Wednesday i can see that for some of the sexual question a lot of people answer only what people would like to hear because i know that if you asked that person gf or bf they would not agree with what they put down.

well in a family situation it is either love or hate. living with a family is stress full also because somedays when you need space they always want to be there but you just want to be to your self. an we can not avoid them because we live with them family is one thing you can not get rid of. while friends on the other hand are the people that you would talk to when you do not feel like talking to your family people act like this because somethings are easyer to tell friends besides family an the other way around. in a bf an gf husband an wife side of the story it is sapost to be all love an if there are any problems you can get trough it but some people just can not take it an they can not be together with other person. i think we all do this because it is in the gods hand book of life, our lives are planed already like they say everything happens for a reason you would not have broken up with you gf or bf or leave your family or drop a friend for no reason.

in my family it was a tug of war of power my mom always thought she had the power but that is not how it sapost to be in a family everybody is sapost to be equal as humans because when 1 person in the family starts trying to get all the power that makes the other people feel like there below an they will rebel against her or that person.

in a friendship the friends have equal power people are drawn into the people that they can connect to. if one of the friends try to get more power than the other it creates problems between them 2 an that can lead into a fight. with guys the fight is usaualy about girls with girl is uaualy about guys or some other reason that i do not know. guys are easy to explan because i am one an we do not fight over dumb things we know how to make up an still be cool girls just hold grudges forever. if im wrong about the girls please comment.

i think our whole world should life as just friendly, no races acts an just no problems with any race other than there own. but if the world was like that our lives would be boring. come on you got to admit that our lives are based off of racism, with out it who knows how life would be. being at s.o.f made me open my eyes to different races only because they are around me everyday so you get use to it.

my theories of love is that u gotta hate somebody to love them or thats how i saw it from my family i am not saying that, that is the way i think about me an my gf but just as i was growing up i heard the word hate a lot in my family. also what i mean by you have to hate somebody to love them is because you have to like all aspect of that person you can not only like the nice part of the person you gotta also be able to coup with the bad part to. if you can do that the realtionship to me should last. my parents just could get along.

Gatto: i like his 4th lesson where he said he teaches his own curriculum an he does listen to what the people who pays his tells him he teaches the things he want. he has a procedures to get the kids in check.

the article about teacher an student boredom, i liked this because he does have a point students are tired of learning thing that wont matter in life if it did then we would not be because it would interest us. at the end of his article he also said that schools are sort of turning us into servants how that school is mandatory etc. 

Freire:  for this one i do not like the fact that he call students listening objects like we are things that people just throw around like rag dolls or that we can do whatever they want us to do. i do like that he said that education can not serve as the oppressor.

Delpit: o hell no Lisa Delpit think that black kids should be treated diff than white kids. i deff disagree with her because we are all the same we are people we are just a different color but it does not matter what color we are on the out side we are all the same color on the inside an also skin color does not determine how smart your are. this is very offensive to black people not only were we in slavery we have to deal with people not wanting us in school. o well out of all thoses things we went trough we are still here fighting for equality out of all the times we got put down we stood back up on our feet an kept fighting so we are here to stay an we want the same education that the white kids or any other kid has it doesnt matter about the teacher who is teaching us because just like the white kid we will learn the same thing that they are learning.

i agree with fanning as he said that our school/ every student is distracted quick an easy an a lot of it has to do with tech such as comp, cell phones, or even ipods. i remember when i was young an i stayed home from school one day or i got home from school i cant remember that well but i ended up watching tv an kennen an kel was on an they had a part of the show when them two went to the future an they didnt have to leave there house or room to go to school because there teacher was on the tv an all they had to do was put on a hat like a thinking hat an there answers was streamed right to the teachers room so that the teacher could know what they got for the question. this also connects to what fanning said because he said kids are not motivated to come to school anymore, i am saying that tech has a big role to play in that reason due to the fact that a lot of kids stay up playing the games or on there comp all night i am one of them that do it which is why i come to school at second period everyday now. with me i am motivated to just finish school because im getting tired of it i dont wanna go to college because if i cant stand it now an i can not come to school on time now what makes you think i will do it in college. i am not trying to go to college. even though i came in late to fanning interview i heard a lot that was said when i got there.

i did not have any contribution to the film because i was hardly in class to even be part of it.

i think the message of our film is to show that it can not always be the teacher that saves us but we can save the teacher.

most of the movies we watch was the teacher saving kids but this time it was the kids saving the teacher.

in our culture it always seems that the teacher is going to save us by teaching us certain things but if the class is bad like it was in the films we saw that would not work they have to connect to us by getting to know us not by boring us with work.

Tyrone Gibbs is fresh out of college right into a teaching job. he does not know what to do, his first day he did not have a game plan for the work that the students will have to do so he went in with a blank mind. the kids ask him are we going to learn anything an he answer what will you like to learn. The students say well   you do not seem like you know what you are doing. the students take the class over an teaches each other. the leader of the students say no do not show him what to do because if you do he will just try to make it seem like he is more in power(the leader is a female), the students listen for a few days after the teacher breaks the leader the students get back to teaching. he learns from the students an notice that they only teach things that is relovent to high school students an out side life, but nothing that has to do with the school corikulam. the teacher gets in trouble for not doing his job but he says no i will not they seem like they are doing well with what they are learning an they should keep doing it. by the time the students have thought the teacher all they know he is ready to teach them what he knows. at the end of the movie the teacher an students learned things from each other an they move on to be success full in life the teach is still teaching things that are important in real life situations an the students say that the class comes in handy.

my idea for my movie is that instead of the super teacher coming to save the class it will be the other way around. where the teacher is a new teacher or a bad teacher in genaral an the class has to teach the teach how to be a good teacher. it will have a sort of the sensay being thought by the grass hopper type vibe. the class will be a mix of different races of students an from every race the teacher will be thought something that he can use in the next year he teach.

SIZER ARTICLE 
the article is based on sizers accomplishments in life. i agree with Yazmin who says that one size fits all education is not true because everybody learns at there own pace some people learn the material an some do not. an i also agree with her saying that schools should not be limited by the tests they should be able to learn an do more things such as the exhibition.


HIRSCH ARTICLE
this article is also article based off his life. i disagree with him saying that students should learn the same thing because it not everybody wants to do the same thing. life would be boring if everybody wants to be the same thing. it is ok to learn the same thing until a certain age like the basics but its not good for older people. so i disagree with his thoughts.

i would have to agree with sizers thoughts only because s.o.f is sort of based off his thoughts an i also did learn a lot in this school compared to my friends school. when i talk to my friends about writing a certain page paper they always so yo this is going to take for ever to write but with me i can write a 8 page paper easy because of all the writing we do in this school an also exhibition. i think its better to do the paper than to take a test that determines your life such as the regents you learn a whole lot more.

well it seems for the speech that obama was basicly saying that we do not have it bad we have it easy because he had to be up at 4 am to wake up an go to school thought by his mom. it is also put in our heads how we have to take responibilty for our own education.


being in a diverst school is not bad but our school is weird. i will to agree with chloe on this our school is in the city but we can not afford cups or trays for lunch. every year the food get worst an the lunch room get cheaper. an i also have to agree with her saying that we have to learn the things we are learning in math because it is so called important to our lifes later on but if you ask anybody that grad do they use the math that they learned in high school they would say no. so alot of the things we are learning in school is pointless. we should be thought things that we are going to use in life. such as how to use your hands an also things that have to do with stuff that we wanna prosue in our life.

A.Why does it matter to you personally given the experiences you've had in your life - in terms of your feelings, hopes, memories, daily life?

it matters to me because when i always younger still in s.o.f i always told my parents that my school is different from other schools an that our work an schooling system is different than it was back when they were in school. they think that if i pass every class that i can walk in graduation but with our school we have to pass all the classes an pass the exhibiton. you could pass all your classes but if you fail the exhibtion you will not walk in graduation but they do not seem to get that. an also our life time it is so easy to do hw an research because everybody has a computer now an cell phones that can do anything now. with our school how it is we are very different because we do different things than other schools.

B.How does your topic matter existentially - in terms of the meaning of your life, of knowing who you are, of whether you live well before you die?

i think my topic does matter because when we have kids our kids are going to say the same things to us. an also they will ask us how the school was back when we was growing up. but since we are focused on this topic now we will not be so lost like our parents are with us right now because we will understand that times are changing an every year more digital things come out with makes our generation seem more technical an sort of lazy because our life are based off computers.

How has education has changed in last thirty years?

 

I think education has changed dramatically over the past 30 years. For example, we have more money for textbooks, we have more technology, we can give the students the help that they need, and we can even afford to enroll them in music, and extra tutoring for the students that need the extra help.


There are also new and improved, and more advanced college courses for young adults in college, if their not quite ready, but they are too advanced for the regular classes. these are all reasons of why our education has improved. Also, most schools now a days have more security programs and anti- smoking/ anti-bullying programs. And we have more security cameras in the hallways at school and on the bus. an we also have computers that can do the work for use such as look up information instead of going through all the text books in the world to find one thing

i could not get 5 people that  i could interview so i only did 2 people. i asked both of the people what makes school better an one said the friends that go to the school, the other 1 said meeting new people or maybe meeting a cool teacher. the other questions i asked was do they think if school seen as a sort of food chain like how the student is on the bottom an then the teachers etc. one said that is a good question an that it is true because as a student u always have to listen to somebody an we are never able to speak our mind with the thing on our mind of gettiing in trouble. the other one said that you can not say that for every school because there are some schools that the students are able to speak there mind.

if every teacher would pass students then we would not have to hear it from our parents which mean we wont come into school mad the next day deff if you deserve to pass the class. because right now i am pissed off at the fact that i failed 3 classes an 2 classes i actually did work in so i just think i should have gotten at least a 65 but not i got a 55 which means i did not do anything the whole semester so i will be pissed off at these 2 teachers for the last semester of my high school life which i know 1 of them do not even care about me being mad which i really do not care. i just do not care about school much anymore i just want that paper so i can move on with my life, school is not important to me.

how do i think it came to be? i think teachers are made to be jerks period. an parents do not make it better one bit because u could get 90's an they would always want more than that but i am not made at that i can understand they want there kids to do better an push there limits but if they get a 65 do not be mad just be happy they passed. i think teachers are jerks because a lot of them know that the student at least do all the work even if it is not up to the there par the student at least took time out from there life to do "all" the work an for the student to do all that an fail how do you think the student will feel going into the 2nd semester. they would not be happy at all an they would just think about all the work they put  in is worth nothing an would think second about even doing the hw this time.

1. What insights about cool does the art integrate? What do you hope people will realize or question from their encounter with your art?

our video shows that the nerd is not cool in school but after he wakes up an noticed that life is not based off being cool he ends up being the cool one while the other people is not. 

2. Describe the process of making the project - how'd you do each step? If it was a group project, what did you contribute?

it was fun we finally got to do a group project that i liked. i like the fact that everybody in our group had different ideas an we all picked a choose the ones that were fun an good. we did like a guess an check type method where we just winged it an seen if it would work an it did. i was an actor an i brought ideas to the group.

3. Does making art seem cool to you? Why or why not?

yea i find making art cool because it can have more than 1 meaning it could possibly show more than the artist thought since the viewer sees more they would notice a lot more.

our view of being cool is based off our race. because every race has a different type of cool. but in my p.o.v every race has a certain class of cool. this is a good example where the black race have every type of social stautes, if you notice that the black kids in the low class has basicly all the sneakers an they wear nice cloths everyday but the upper class would never wear the things that the lower class wear. matter fact i cant even call them the lower class because they are working class. but they can barly afford the things they buy an they still buy it. so im guessing that is the view of cool. but i dont think so i think that if you can buy things on your own an support your self an not have to rely on your parents then that is cool in my eye. i think that it is so important to the working class to go an buy things so that people would look at them an not think that they are struggling so they go buy fancy things.

THESIS: people do not act real because we are never thought since were young how to act or be real, we follow the last person or the enviornment we are around. the people that we follow can either be following somebody who is cool or thinks they are and that person is following somebody else. our parents cant teach us because they  do not know how to be real themself when were babies we are sticked in a room with other babies an are left there, we will end up following the other babies because we do not know what to do so we just follow them.

DYLAN: he heard of an experiment that they stuck a baby in a room by its self an the baby just went blank because it has nobody to play with or to enteract with.

i agree with andy if we stop worrying about being cool we would have so much more time for anything else such as getting a job, getting better at hobbies, or doing something that  can mean something to you or your family.

i dont think we need to be cool i just think that we are drawn into it we just need something in our lifes to stay busy. we all are starting to notice that we are all getting old an that we will die in a few years so all of this trying to be cool will not matter because a cool dead person does not get that far.

tattoos i think are kinda cool depeding on who has the tattoo an what the tattoo is me myself i like tribal tattoos an i would not mind getting one on my arm an also my initials on my neck but i wont get anything else. i think people should think about what kind of tat they want because when they get old it would not look so good. like for example if a girl gets a butterfly when there young that butterfly might not be a butter fly when they get old it might change into a dragon or something because of there saging skin. but i just do not know which tat i want if i get one it would have to mean something to me. a lot of people get tats that mean something to them that happened in there life an also people get tats that do not mean anything at all. just to show off that they have a tat.

tats can go into depth about how much a person has been through in there life or something meaning full happened any way you think about it they mark there bodies to remember the thing that happened. back in the day when the native american marked there bodies to show how a kid is becoming a man or how a man  is the protecter of the people that was very meaningfully because the other people would see the tats an know who that person is

when people get tats for no reason i dont understand it because when you ask the person why they get the tat was it meaningfull to you or somthing they would say no ther just wanted a tat to show off. i just dont get it.

also i noticed that people try to get in shape when there getting a tat so that when they get the tat it looks hot
